What to expect

Engineering rigor meets AI

AI as a tool, not a crutch

You'll learn how to actually use LLMs, RAG, agents, and ML — to design systems, evaluate trade-offs, write tests, and ship features that hold up in production.

Real teams, real rituals

You'll be assigned to a small squad with a mentor. Standups, sprint planning, PR reviews, retros — the workflow you'll use the rest of your career.

Projects with real users

No throwaway tutorials. You'll contribute to a brief from a real client or internal product, scoped to ship inside the cohort.

Tracks

Pick a lane. Ship something real.

Applied AI

LLM apps, RAG pipelines, eval harnesses, prompt + tool design.

AI-Augmented Web

Full-stack products that put AI features in users' hands.

Data & OCR

Pipelines, document understanding, structured extraction.

Data Analysis

From messy data to dashboards and decision-grade insight.

ML Systems

Training, fine-tuning, deploying small models that earn their keep.

Product Engineering

Scope, build, ship — own a slice of a real product.

Teamwork

You'll learn to ship with people, not just code.

Every intern joins a cross-functional squad of 4–5 people for the full eight weeks. You'll plan sprints together, divide work, review each other's PRs, and present demos every Friday. By the end, you'll know what good collaboration actually feels like — and you'll have teammates for life.

  • Weekly sprint planning + Friday demos
  • Pair programming with mentors
  • Async-first communication (Slack, Linear, GitHub)
  • End-of-cohort showcase to real stakeholders

Who you are

Curious. Coachable. A builder.

You don't need to be the best in your class — you need to be the kind of person who keeps going when things break, asks better questions next time, and shows up for your team.

  • Student or recent graduate in CS, Software Engineering, IT, IS, MIS, or a related field
  • Comfortable in at least one programming language beyond HTML/CSS
  • Conversational in English (most of our work happens in writing)
  • Genuinely curious about AI — and skeptical enough to test what it claims
  • Willing to commit ~25 hours per week for 8 weeks

What's in it for you

More than a line on your CV.

Real shipped work

A project in your portfolio that actually runs in production.

Senior mentorship

Direct, weekly 1:1s with Frontdreams engineers.

Certificate + reference

Performance-based letter of recommendation on completion.

Hiring pipeline

Top interns are first in line for paid roles at Frontdreams.

Program fee

$50 — one-time

The fee covers tooling, mentorship time, and your project infrastructure for the full cohort. It also keeps applicants serious — we'd rather have 30 committed builders than 300 tire-kickers. Note: the fee does not include cloud credits.

  • 8 weeks of structured curriculum + project work
  • Weekly 1:1 mentorship with a senior engineer
  • Access to internal tooling and squad infrastructure
  • Certificate of completion + reference on request
